About Cebu
The Tropical Philippines Island of Cebu City, once known as Zubu, is wonderful and rich in atmosphere. It is the perfect place to go for a romantic getaway or to recharge. Cebu has a number of natural attractions surrounded by water including Mactan Island, Tumalong Falls, and Pescador Island. Other attractions include Jumalon Butterfly sanctuary, The Cebu Art Gallery Museum, and the mesmerising Basilica Del Santo Nino. Cebu City has its own version of Brazil’s Mardi Gras, the Sinulog Festival, held on the third Sunday of January. Must try Traditional Cebu Island dishes including Bam-I, a stir-fried noodle dish and Danggit, a salted, sun-dried rabbitfish. With Cebu’s climate, Cebu’s mangoes are available all year round, they’re referred to as Mangga. Cebu is also renowned for their great sweet rice puddings and cakes.
